Happy Easter! It is a glorious day here in Georgia! Wherever you may be, I hope you’re enjoying your Sunday. I’ve been busy preparing my dining room for dinner this evening. A few months ago, while shopping, I stumbled upon the sweetest bunny dishes. The faces on these bunnies were too cute to pass up. The neutral color was perfect for the natural theme I was planning this year. The plates are made by Southern Living and I find them simply adorable.
Easter dinner will be a casual affair. I started decorating the dining room with a Crate and Barrel beige table runner, embroidered with brown, green and tan vines. Gold chargers retrieved from the China cabinet, along with my every day dinner plates were the right touch. The folded dinner napkins placed under the bunny plates finished off the table setting. In the past, I added a themed decoration on the top plate; but this year I did not want to take away from the beauty of the plate.
Gold colored wine glasses harmonized with the neutral tone. Next, for the centerpiece, I added a naturally inspired Pottery Barn basket. Small blue speckled eggs and succulents were nestled in a small twig nest. Two baskets of flowers on each side of the centerpiece and two vivid bundles of papier-mache carrots were situated at the ends of the table.
For the Chandalier, I hung glittered eggs of different colors and sizes from the arms.
With these charming dishes, came a gorgeous, large platter and I displayed this piece on my side-board.
To add more bunny love, on the buffet is a Pier 1 ceramic bunny basket. Again, just keeping things easy and simple.
Outdoors, I assembled an old planter with dracaena spike, opal innocence, lysimachia (goldi), geraniums and a snapdragon. The planter is finished with a “nest of eggs” pick and a few ceramic eggs for a pop of color.
